Frequently Asked Questions

You can easily calculate your SGPA by using the following formula:

SGPA = Σ (Credit Points × Grade Points) / Σ Total Credits

For Example: For example, if you take four courses in a semester with credits 3, 4, 2, and 3, and earn grades A (8 points), B+ (7 points), A+ (9 points), and B (6 points) respectively, your SGPA will be calculated as:

SGPA = (3×8 + 4×7 + 2×9 + 3×6) / (3+4+2+3) = (24 + 28 + 18 + 18) / 12 = 88/12 ≈ 7.33

You can convert your SGPA to percentage by using the following formula:

Percentage = (SGPA x 10) - 7.5

Then according to the above formula the percentage of 7.5 SGPA is 67.5%.

Different Indian universities use different schemes for calculating the percentage from SGPA but most universities used to calculate the percentage by multiplying the SGPA with 10.

Percentage = SGPA x 10

According to above method then the 7.5 SGPA is equivalent to 75%>

7 sgpa is known as an average performance for most of the Indian Universities but getting more chances to secure the admission in the best course and university you need to work hard for improving your grades.
